Fan Art Friday: Giant Pandas
Few creatures capture our hearts quite like the Giant Panda. Once endangered, these beloved bears have made an impressive comeback with close to 1,900 now roaming wild and 600 more in zoos worldwide - proof that conservation works!
As March 16 (National Panda Day) approaches, let's celebrate these iconic floofers through our community's incredible panda-themed artwork while checking out some trivia about these chonky bamboo-munchers.
Newborn Giant Panda cubs weigh a little over 100 grams, whereas adult Giant Pandas can grow to be up to 150 kilograms.

Fan Art Friday: Turning Red
Welcome to another Fan Art Friday! Today we celebrate Turning Red (2022), an animated fantasy-adventure-drama film that highlights themes as puberty, friendship, self-love, and acceptance.. It was produced by Pixar and directed by Domee Shi, a Chinese-Canadian animator, film director and screenwriter who also directed Bao. This is Pixar’s first feature film directed solely by a woman.
It stars Meilin "Mei" Lee, a 13-year-old Chinese-Canadian girl who lives in Toronto and has a group of close friends., consisting of Miriam, Priya and Abby. They are all fans of the boy band 4*Town. At first, Mei is presented as a confident and independent girl who makes her own decisions. But then we realize that she lives under the rules of her strict and overprotective mother, Ming Lee, who constantly pressures her to be perfect, completely ignoring and discouraging her interests. Mei and Ming work to care for their Chinese family temple every day and tell visitors about their ancestors

Chapter 1 - A Knock at the Door : Eliza
There were half a million people in the city of Greatwen.
Five lived in the palace along the banks of the River Tembus.
Forty-four lived in spark workshops, found wherever the city was thriving.
Two thousand were cloistered away, in churches and the spiraling towers of the cathedral.
Two hundred thousand lived on bustling streets, in townhomes, and brick apartments built with the reforging of industry.
And the rest, well the rest, lived wherever they could…
There were half a million people in the city of Greatwen, and Eliza Scaggs didn’t trust a single one.
She came out of her laboratory covered in soot, tracking it across the white tile of her kitchen floor, but she didn’t care. She was exhausted, and all she wanted was to sit down with a nice cup of rot brew tea. Partially, because she was fond of warm drinks, but mostly, because it contained a powerful stimulant, one to which she now found herself addicted, and she
