Morrowind Topographical Map

Description

The duality of posting this immediately after my last post LOL

A sketchy imagining on what I view the geography of the province Morrowind to look like: Very different from versions like ESO or the TR mod, I'm going more with the vibes of how the original 1996 Morrowind concept map was set up, albeit with a bit more visual clarity www.imperial-library.info/cont…

The actual purpose I made this map in with mind was to fill it with icons on the different wildlife that existed across it's regions, but that ended up messy so I'm just going with uploading the plain version for people to enjoy ^^

EDIT!!: Historical alt-versions depicting Morrowind's geography in both the Dawn and Merethic Eras can be viewed at this link here: sta.sh/2hwjdunhado

Huge fan of the beta Morrowind map (and the earlier Arena depiction of Vvardenfell). If you're not on the TES III Cartography Club discord you might want to join and show it there - those guys have probably stared at older maps in the series for longer than any one else, including the people that originally drew them. One of the Elder Kings people also used to post WIPs of the maps for their mod there too.

Interestingly, the vanilla Skyrim heightmap was drawn with reference to Arena and includes the original Vvardenfell.

Anyway, with respect to the actual map: its good. Good colors. Good at showing elevation. I don't think the coastline and water contour colors mesh well - it seems blurry too me - but the rest of it is good.

A lot of the rivers split, but, personally, I roll my eyes when people throw fits over that in critiques and regardless that in the map you based this off of, so not much to be done about it while staying true to the original.
